Terms of Use

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This terms page describes what the platform actually does today, written from the database schema and the code rather than from a template. It has not been reviewed by counsel and should be before anyone relies on it. By using The Blue Couch you agree to what is below. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Your account
- You must be 13 or older. Some content is intended for 18+.
- One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself; what happens under your account is your responsibility.
- Handles are first come, first served, and we may reclaim one that impersonates somebody or squats a name.
What you post
You keep ownership of everything you post. You give us permission to display it on the platform and to show it in the Lobby, in rooms, and in previews of the platform. That permission ends for future display when you delete the post — copies already in backups age out on the normal backup cycle.
Do not post: harassment, hate, threats, sexual content involving minors, other people’s private information, spam, malware, or anything you do not have the right to share.
We can remove content and suspend accounts. Safety tools — report, block, mute, privacy controls — are available to every member at every level and are never behind a paid tier.
Points and XP
- Points have no cash value, cannot be bought, cannot be transferred, and cannot be redeemed for money. They are earned on the platform and spent on the platform.
- XP is status only. It is earned, never spent, never bought.
- The points ledger is append-only: entries are added, never edited or deleted.
- We may adjust or void points obtained by exploiting a bug or automating activity. We will not quietly reduce points that were fairly earned.
Membership
All-Access is $5/month and gives an ad-free experience, the full Vault, member rooms, early drops, and 10% off merchandise. It renews monthly until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time — see Refunds.
Live rooms
- Rooms are hosted. A host may mute, remove, or end a room.
- Speaking is granted by the host. Nothing you do in a browser grants you a microphone.
- Assume anything you say in a room can be heard, recorded, and repeated by other people present. If a room will be recorded and published, we will say so in the room.
Merchandise and bookings
Merchandise is sold and fulfilled through Shopify under its checkout terms. Promotional services booked through Book are agreed case by case; what is delivered, and when, is set out at booking.
Things we do not promise
The platform is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features described as coming may change or not ship. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
